You received a portion of steak but after we asked if you wanted more during your dinner and nobody took more.Ībout the wines: you have 3 glasses of wines (1 different from our production for each course) + the glass of the aperitif and also for the wine we passed several time asking if somebody wanted more and refilling the glasses without problems, but you didn't ask for more. The normal price for a steak is around 50€/kg, so maybe you didn't eat a lot Fiorentina during your italian stay. You ate first bruschette with fresh vegetable and homemade sauces, then the steak and after all the dessert, homemade, too. Then you have dinner inside the barrique room, with a 3 course menu, where the main course was Fiorentina Steak, one of the most expensive and famous meat dish in Tuscany. It was supposed to be a welcome drink, before the dinner. Then you decided to join our special event, Bistecca and Sangiovese and we told you the price: 50€ per person all inclusive, there was the menu of the special event at your disposal at the cash.Īt the event: you had an aperitif with a glass of our white Sangiovese with some simple snacks and some homemade phillo dough snacks. So if you have a poorer service is just because was not fair to give a poorer service to somebody with a reservation, but you were advised about the busy moment you found. Normally we accept only people with reservation, because our staff could follow in a good way a few people at the same time. This was our fault: to be flexible and try to find a solution to your problem. Our service has changed a little bit in 7 years, it's true, but not our way to welcome people.Īlthough you didn't book for a tasting, the colleague try to find a solution for you just because you were here some years before. We are very sad you wrote this review about us, especially we have noticed you decide to sign up on tripadvisor just to place this bad comment about our service and this is really really sad. A tour that takes in a lunch is also available.ĭefinitely worth investigating and in particular to discover their wonderfully refreshing Vernaccia. There is a charge for the wine tasting which not unreasonable given the cheese accompaniment. We enjoyed all the wines but must admit that the white Vernaccia, a grape unique to San Gimignano, was particularly outstanding. Palagetto also produce their own oilve oils. Vino Santo, a dessert wine and grappa are also produced. The winery produces around 23 different wines - 6 of which are from the Arianna range. As there were two of us I went for the reds whilst my wife sampled the whites. You can opt for a red or white wine tasting. We arranged a private wine tasting (arranged by Villa Palagetto) which comprised sampling 5 wines which was accompanied by a generous cheese plate and bread. The winery has been family run for several generations and is now managed by the daughter who has brought out her own selection of new wines under the "Arianna" label. What an interesting and fascinating selection of wines.
